Color Theory

I’m reposting my article on Color Theory from the summer of 2003.

My goal is to make it into a short (1 -2 week) course on color theory for non-physics/physiology/cognative perception majors. Ideally this would be taught in the second or third year of college. It covers history, physiology, linear algebra, photography, photoshop channel mixing, and of course colorblindness.

Thanks to the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine, which helped me resurrect my old website, but also provides links to reference pages that are no longer in existence.

Although I will be cleaning this up over time, here is the original content (collected into a single document) of my Color Theory for Dichromats.

Welcome to 101-365 baby!

This is the latest iteration of my running commentary blog, called One Oh One dash Three Sixty Five dot Com. My previous blogs include Mr. Science including the Pictorial Periodic Table, 101-365 baby! a Radio Userland blog, and Photography, a web gallery of my photography projects. None of these are live now, but you can search for them using the Wayback Machine, where much of the content there has been archived.

On this blog, I will be showcasing my microprocessor projects: clocks, measurement instruments, and toys. I will (re)build a gallery of my photography, both film and cutting edge digital. And of course I will have my usual stream of snarky commentary about science, art, politics and other popular culture topics.

Expect a picture or two – here’s one:
